Santa Fe – The New Mexico MainStreet (NMMS) Program announced today that it is accepting a limited number of applications for emerging MainStreet and Frontier Communities. NMMS will be holding three Pre-Application workshops aimed at providing an introduction to the program benefits, process, eligibility criteria, ranking and selection.
“The New Mexico MainStreet Program has a proven track record in revitalizing downtown areas and restoring their historic heritage,” said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela. “I encourage new communities to join the MainStreet program through our new Frontier Program or as an emerging community to help grow their economies.”
Communities who attend one of the workshops will receive bonus points in the ranking system. The pre- application workshop is not mandatory but it does demonstrate commitment to the opportunity.
Specific locations for the workshop will be announced June 26 on the NMMS web site: http://nmmainstreet.org. Applications will also be released on June 26 on the website and copies will distributed at the Pre-Application meetings. Interested parties may call Rich Williams, Director for additional information at (505) 827-0168.
New Mexico MainStreet is a grassroots program of the New Mexico Economic Development Department.
