Performances measures for FY14–FY22 indicate that Local MainStreet communities have completed 2,242 building rehabilitations, leveraged more than $212 million in private sector reinvestment, created 1,449 net new businesses and business expansions, and 5,184 net new jobs. New Mexico MainStreet investments in infrastructure and professional technical assistance leverages volunteer and public and private support to ensure that New Mexico communities can maximize opportunities for their economic development work across the state.
Since FY2013, New Mexico MainStreet has leveraged our technical assistance with $2.5 million in grant dollars to local affiliate communities for projects through our private/public sector funding partners.
Since 2013, nine iconic historic theaters have received funding and technical assistance through the New Mexico Historic Theaters Initiative and are now serving as important rural downtown economic anchors.
In addition, New Mexico MainStreet assisted with the Adoption of 17 Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Plans in MainStreet and Frontier Communities.
